Jaldapara National Park (formerly Jaldapara Wildlife Sanctuary) is a national park situated at the foothills of the Eastern Himalayas in Alipurduar District of northern West Bengal and on the banks of the Torsa River. Today, it has the largest population of the Indian one horned rhinoceros in the state, an animal threatened with extinction. The nearby Chilapata Forests is an elephant corridor between Jaldapara and the Buxa Tiger Reserve. Jaldapara is a paradise for bird watchers. It is one of the very few places in India, where the Bengal florican is sighted. The other birds to be found here are the crested eagle, Pallas's fish eagle, shikra, Finn's weaver, jungle fowl, peafowl (peacock), partridge, and lesser pied hornbill. Pythons, monitor lizards, kraits, cobras, geckos, and about eight species of fresh water turtles can also be found here.
Phuentsholing,the second largest town in Bhutan (population around 40,000),is on the Indian border, next to the town of Jaigaon. The architecture is very modern which is of particular interest to tourists. However, like all of Bhutan, it does offer a clean, pleasant and safe environment in which to go about your business. You can also visit "Gumba" famous temple of Lord Budhha, nearby residence of royal family. Zangtho Pelri Lhakhang represents the heaven of Guru Rinpoche. On ground floor there are statues of eight manifestations of Guru Rinpoche and paintings on Buddha's life while the next floor contains eight Bodhisattavas and statues of Avalokiteshvara and Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal.

Buxa Tiger reserve shelters some of the most celebrated animals in the world. Although it is not located close to Lataguri, the 116 km drive can be covered in about 2 hours and it's worth every seconds. Tigers, elephants, bison, sambar, barking hog, cheetal deer, wild boars, wild buffaloes and leopards are some of the animals that can be seen.There are a number of trekking routes through the jungle. There is a 4 km further trek to Rovers' Point or Romitey Dara (the land of beautiful birds at 4,500 ft or 1,400 m). From Buxa, one can also take the 13 km trek route for Jayanti via Mahakal Cave through the dense jungle (subjected to get permission from BTR). The Mahakal Cave is a stalactite-stalagmite cave, popularly known as the Mahakal cave near Jainty.
It is located along the Jayanti River, forming a natural border with the Bhutan hills. It is popular with hikers for its beautiful views of the surrounding landscape and wild fountains. The 13 km trek from Buxaduar to Jayanti is especially popular, passing through the dense forest of the Buxa Tiger Reserve. It is a very spiritual place. One can rent a safari along with a guide for this tour. You will find place very peaceful along with river bank all the way till cave.
It is situated at an elevation of 3000ft, which will take you around 2 hours to travel from our resort which is ideal for nature lovers. The journey to Samsing is a memorable one, as you slowly ride uphill through the most picturesque Dooars tea garden on the rolling hill slopes.The attractive tourist spot is the `Rocky island nature resort` on the banks of river Murti. This is about 2 km from Samsing. The view of the river and surrounding forests are excellent from Rocky Island.
The hill station is situated near the Indo-Bhutan border on the banks of the Jaldhaka River, on the way to Bindu. Jaldhaka Hydro Electricity Project on the Jaldhaka River is a major attraction in this area. Bird lovers can enjoy a varied collection of hill birds includes Kingfisher, Brown Dipper, Redstart, Laughing Thrush as well as migratory waterfowl here.Bird watching, short treks to Todey and Tangta, angling in Jaldhaka river, village tours, cultural shows etc are the activities you may undertake around Jhalong.It is located at around 50kms from the resort, which takes 2 hours to reach.
It is primarily known for its population of Indian rhinoceros. The park has been declared as the best among the protected areas in India by the Ministry of Environment and Forests for the year 2009.The park has recorded fifty species of mammals, 194 species of birds, 22 species of reptiles, 7 species of turtles, 27 species of fish, and other macro and micro fauna. The park is rich in large herbivores including Indian rhinoceros, gaur, Asian elephant, sloth bear,chital, and sambar deer. Small herbivores include barking deer, hog deer and wild boar. There is a comparative lack of large carnivores, with the only big cat being the leopard. The park is home to a large number of snakes, venomous and non-venomous, including the Indian python, one of the largest snakes in the world, and the king cobra - the world's largest venomous snake.
